9+ Years IT Experience

Timothy W. Hunter | (Timmy) | He/Him/His

I always hated talking about myself. I enjoy listening to others, hearing their stories, and taking an interest in someone else’s passion. That said, I will talk for hours about my passions; I have a decent amount of them. Grew up in a military family on both sides of my parents. My father was Navy, and my mother’s mother was Navy as well. Even though I was born in Maine, the Hampton Roads area of Virginia is home. Lived and raised in the area for over 20+ years now. Had the chance to live on the West Coast for a few years, and it was lovely and definitely a culture shock.

Education, development, technology . . . Just some items that I have a passion for. Education and development go hand in hand for me. Learning to develop new skills and being educated to understand things better. Personal growth is important, so I make sure I take time out of my week to learn something new or polish and grow my current skill sets. Then there is technology. My chosen career path since my early 20s. Got into technology when I was interested in how websites were made. I took to YouTube, where I learned HTML and CSS. From there, I learned more programming languages and more about Microsoft products and services.

Outside of my professional passions, I enjoy going to the beach, traveling when I can, trying new things, and hanging out with good friends! If you were to ask me, “Hey, let’s go to the beach,” I would be halfway to the car with my beach attire. This goes for anything with water. And traveling to a new location with some type of water activity, you’ll have to drag me back home.

Achievements

Work Project
Evoko Dashboard
Aug 2023 - Apr 2024

Going back into the office leads to a lot of associates re-learning how to use office ethics. One thing that I took charge of was creating a dashboard to show where conference rooms are located, whether they are busy, free, or a meeting is about to start, and have a dashboard created for each floor. This led to several managers in upper IT giving praise and seeing if this can be expanded on.

Collaboration
Hybrid Work
Dec 2021 - Oct 2022

Since the start of covid, the idea of a hybrid work environment was becoming a complete reality. Managing and monitoring hybrid technologies, like conference room equipment, was becoming a business-critical item. Through the months in which I took on the role to help support these conference room technologies, a lot was developed, and many crises’ were averted due to proactive work. Working with other teams to ensure these spaces worked as designed was almost a given.

Inclusion & Diversity
Work-Spice Balance | Ferguson BRG Cookbook
Jan 2022 - Nov 2022

Ferguson, during the time, had three Business Resource Groups (BRG), with a fourth underway. During that time, an idea that was thought of the year before was starting to come together; A BRG Cookbook. This idea was thought of because many of these groups shacyan homemade recipes. So, during a meeting, someone said we should gather these recipes and put them into a cookbook. Well, a group got together just a few months after that and started the project. We met with our legal team, HR team, Marketing team, and all the leaders in the BRGs.

The cookbook gathers over 90 recipes, with over 40 people submitting recipes. To date, this cookbook has been downloaded over 300 times from our company’s SharePoint site.
